Nether Hub?
There are a few people playing the server now and I think we need to make a Nether Hub. I know people may be resistant to the idea of people going to their houses while they are busy or away. However this is a great way to expand on the trust we already have within our small community. Of course, I would need Onda's permission and perhaps free claim blocks for us to claim our paths but for that only (all this would be optional even if it gets accepted). This is the next level of a bound community in our server. What do you think?  |

this is a pretty good idea i've kinda already made my own nether portale in the nether, but for other people great idea

Yes what I mean is a portal around spawn that will go to a room full of pathways to various important places and people's bases.

It's something to think about for sure. Perhaps we can work out something like this that people would buy to allow easier access to their area for the general population.
PS avoid the light colors in your post man can barely read that yellow! O.o

This is at spawn? Sounds like a good idea, but there is not much room at spawn, and this might not be fair to other players that might join later on... However, I think a nether hub sounds like a great idea if its a community build. But, renting a portal that would take you to your house sounds like a great idea, as long as there are enough portals for more people... I don't know to be honest, I am eager to see how this will turn out  |

Yes, this kind of thing as I am envisioning would only be for our current small community and perhaps a few new joined members. It is plausible that we could make a a large scale row of portals for huge amounts of people, but this is not necessary because of our small community (as I've said before).

A semi large row or circle of portals would be nice, where a person can rent one for a fairly inexpensive amount of money. Instead of being located in the nether, it should be in one of the worlds that you can warp to. Also, the portals would not be normal nether portals, but instead special gates that you can auto warp to your home. I have no idea how this can be accomplished, but I have seen something similar to this on the space bug server. Or, we can make a community hub the old fashioned way, where people must ride a distance through the nether to get to their house portals. This is all just my concept idea, and it might be different from what you are thinking, but the whole idea in general sounds pretty interesting.

What I was going to say is that I do not think you will get free claim blocks, especially since this is a community build and probably not something managed by other staff members or admins. However, I might be wrong and it would be great if you could get free claim blocks.

Yes, I think it rather unreasonable to claim the paths so perhaps we would be trusting of each other that we wont break them. The other trouble is though, what will the transportation be? Horses, mine carts, and ice tunnels will do but mine cart tracks and ice tunnels are expensive, and good fast horses can be rare. Let me know what you guys think we should have for transportation. |

If you just want to build rails around the nether feel free, as you said though, you would be counting on the community to not just wreck them. There is space in spawn for more portals, and it is made in a way that I could add more, but how to actually implement the fees for such a thing I have not worked out, and probably wont work out for a while, as there are other things I want to implement that seem more important at this time.

What will probably happen is that the community will build a nether hub somewhere, and what will go in it will all be up to whoever is building it. However, even though it probably will not happen at any time soon, an official server portal hub with teleports that people can rent and set up at their base should be brought into consideration, especially since everybody gets only one set home, which they probably set at their base.
